The lexical approach in an EFL classroom :a pilot study on 1st. grade student's oral production at Senda del Saber School
Resumen
This thesis work aims at demonstrating that activities based on the Lexical Approach facilitate students’ oral production in a group of 1st grade of High School students. The intervention was carried out in a school from Santiago, Chile (Senda Del Saber School). The project was carried out in a group of 32 students of 1st grade of High School. The research was conducted within 6 lessons; the first four lessons were about idioms, expressions and phrasal verbs. The other two lessons were used for evaluations. The results showed that the students improved their oral skills by using the collocations in an oral test. An implication of this could be that the use of strategies from the Lexical Approach can be beneficial for the learning process of students of 1st grade of High School in Santiago, Chile.
