dc.description.abstractThis research is focused on providing tools for teachers when planning their lessons by applying the Universal design for learning (UDL) approach. In order to teach the content from the student’s book which is in unit 4 titled Explorando otras culturas, which is focused on the indigenous people in Chile. This approach was used as an attempt to provide 9th grade students at the school “Oratorio Don Bosco School” with different options that considered students’ type of intelligence and how they could express their knowledge. The research group followed the action research process in order to address a classroom problem and find a solution by collecting qualitative and quantitative data. The positive results were determined by observing an improvement on students’ performance using English in the classroom as well as an increase of their grades and the development of a better classroom environment.
