ICTS in EFL vocabulary teaching and learning : analyses on methodological strategies used by 7th and 8th grade teachers in the current chilean context
Resumen
During the pandemic, teachers had to face new challenges they did not expect previously. Themain challenge was the switch from face-to-face classes to the online modality as there wasno previous preparation for teachers to deal with such a situation. Nevertheless, there are avariety of different resources and teaching strategies related to the use of ICTs supported onthe TPACK framework in order to adapt to these new abrupt changes and consequent challenges. For that reason, this research investigates the different methodologies andstrategies that may be seen as useful and effective for teachers when teaching vocabulary in7th and 8th grades in the online modality with special emphasis on the implementation andintegration of ICTs. When it comes to findings, four new categories were discovered andintegrated to the creation of the methodological proposal.
